If your business has the right image, which appeals to the right people at the right time, it is obviously going to be far more successful than a business that has put little if any effort into its image at all. But, how exactly do you improve your company image? Here are a few ideas you may want to consider:
1. Work out what makes your brand unique
If you want to improve your company image, the first thing you need to do is work out who you are as a business, What are your values? what do you bring to the table that other companies do not? Why should customers choose you over the competition? Once you know this, you can basically write the story or manifesto of your brand and use that as the main selling point for your business.
2. Be philanthropic
If you want as many people as possible to look at your brand in a favorable light, then a really good way of doing that is looking at high profile charity challenge ideas that you and your team can take part in to raise money for a good cause. Philanthropy always plays well for brands, and if it is in the form of an exciting challenge, you will have more people taking the time to follow what you’re doing and get involved with will be great for your PR.
3. Look after your employees
When we are trying to improve our business image, we often think about improving the actual business as in revamping our websites or creating sleeker products, both of which can help, but one thing that can often be even more effective than that is improving employee wellbeing. When companies take good care of their employees, those employees are more likely to sing their praises to just about anyone who will listen. Not only that but these days customers are big on ethical business, so companies who are known for doing right by their employees are always going to be looked upon more favorably than those who do not.
4. Take your corporate responsibility seriously
On a similar note, if you aren’t doing things like taking recycling seriously, sourcing ethical materials, and generally trying to run a business that is as ethical as you can possibly make it, then you are missing out on a vital opportunity to improve your company image. Customers, as we said, are more ethical than ever and they expect a lot from businesses, so try not to disappoint them.
5. Be trustworthy
Always say what you are going to do and then do it. Never promise more than you can offer and never leave your customers feeling like they have been conned or ripped off by you in any way and you will never go far wrong.
As you can see, it is not all that difficult to improve your company image, but you will need to invest time and money into the process, and you must really WANT to make a change if you are to be successful.
