Trade shows are a fantastic way for you to gain a lot more business clients. You would be surprised at how much publicity you can get from them as well. If you want to get the best result however then you need to make sure that you take your time and that you plan your event out well in advance.

When you do, you will soon find that it’s easier than ever for you to take your business to new heights.

1. Start Planning in Advance

Your work really will start in the weeks that lead up to the event. Ask your team about what items they think you should hand out, whether it’s pencils, t-shirts or even headphones. You might also want to put out some tweets or statuses as this will help you to raise as much awareness as you can. This will work wonders for your campaign, and it will also make it much easier for you to generate interest.

2. Give Away Something Unique

If you know that everyone is going to be giving away pens, pencils or even notebooks then it helps to be unique if you can. When you are unique in your approach you can then stand out from the other companies and you can also really put your own stamp on it as well. Think about corporate balloons, laptop skins, sunglasses or even socks! The possibilities are well and truly endless.

3. Create a Buzz about your Brand

Buzz ultimately means conversation. You’ll want to provide the customers who go past your booth with the chance to make a bit of conversation with you. Step up and really make the effort, and also make sure that you are not pushing the sale too much. If you do, then you may end up compromising your company far more than you realise.

4. Know your Competition

It’s so important that you do your research. Find out who is going to be showing up to the trade show and also make sure that you understand what they are doing as well. Think about it, do they have a collection box? Are they hosting contests? If so then you need to take all of this into account when you host your own trade show because if you don’t, then you may end up not being able to stand out as much you’d like.

5. Have a Great Display

It doesn’t matter how big or how small your company might be because you have to make sure that you have a great display and that you also make sure that your budget is not too limited. If you don’t invest in a great display, then you may find that you end up not being able to attract the right kind of attention and this will really work against you. Pop up banners are ideal here because they are not only affordable, but they are also great at drawing in customers.

6. Create the Longest Line

Something as simple as a well-designed shirt can create a buzz that is long-lasting and immediate. When creating your shirt, try and make sure that it’s actually something that someone would want to wear. You should also never be afraid to encourage them to wear it immediately either. Sometimes people just need a bit of a push and if you are able to give them this then they will certainly help your company.

7. Create a Video

A cool video about your company can work wonders. It’s a great way for you to make a huge impact the next time you are at a trade show and it can really help you to stand out as well. If you want to help yourself then create an explainer video that tells your customers what you offer and how you can help them.

8. Embrace your Individuality

Think about what your company stands for and what you offer your customers. Is your brand quirky? If so then try and embrace this when marketing your trade show. It doesn’t matter if every single other company at the trade show is professional either because you want to stand out and the more you can do this then the more you will resonate with your customers. You don’t need to have a big budget to do this either. In fact, sometimes it’s possible to stretch a small budget far more than you realise.

Of course, standing out doesn’t need to be difficult, and this is especially the case when you try and embrace what you have.
